Just a few recent developments
+ I got that job I applied for! It was actually offered to me a few hours after the interview which is a first for me, but I"ll take it. I'm still with the library, but I'll be working on the computer network there instead of waiting on patrons. I have a job title now, and a decent raise, and I'm super, super excited and stuff.

+ I was also able to purchase an iPad through my job (they bought it actually, and then I pay them back through future paychecks. It's how I got my laptop a few years ago, basically a non-interest loan.) and I'm already in love with it. I had one of the discontinued HP touchpads before, so I gave that to my older sister Hope as an early birthday present. So she's happy, I'm happy, and the only one still wanting a touchpad in the immediate family is Mom (yep. I can't believe it either).

+ So I'm doing NaNoWriMo this year. Um, yeah. I've never written something original without the plot already mapped out. It's kind of terrifying, but a little relaxing at the same time. Also, not writing for an audience in mind is wonderful, I should've done THAT ages ago.

+ I've lost 10lbs since August. Yay me!

+ I don't have a paid LJ account for the first time in years and I'm okay with that? It feels more appropriate for the amount of time I spend here, which I am still here, just not as active as I used to be. Fandom has run me off a bit, I still enjoy it in theory but practice gives me hives.

+ I wanna kiss Brian Michael Bendis for creating Miles Morales. Not only am I finally reading a Spiderman comic, its one of the best ongoings I've picked up this year. I'm also tearing my way through The Walking Dead comics after catching up with the show and yeah, I'll take those over the slow ass AMC version, sorry. I'm still watching, but...not enjoying as much as I should be. I am glad that Frank  Darabont is gone, that man hates plot development and I can't forgive him for that.

+ TVD is on tonight. Pray for me.

Yay new/better job! <3 and also IPAD. i use mine all the damn time. i find more uses the longer i have it, which is usually the opposite when it comes to gadgetry. and comics on ipad is like. a religious experience. godddd.

Miles is so cute i want to die and between the writing and the art i'm enjoying spiderman for the first time.

I'm kind of a fiend when it comes to downloading comics now, you're right, it's pretty amazing and much easier than viewing on the laptop. :) There's so many apps for this one compared to HP though, I'm a little overwhelmed. But in a good way.

I got so emotional reading those Spiderman comics, they are just everything I wanted and done in such a lovely way. I really hope they can keep this up for a good amount of issues, I don't see why they couldn't though. But still, I'm just excited that his comic is as good as it is right out the gate. :)

Havent't seen you on this side of the internet in a while :)

+Yay for the job success!

+Yay for an iPad! My sister has one and she loves it - and I serve as a student rep at my uni's board of trustees...and seriously, so many people spent the entire board meeting on their iPads doing irrelevant shit. Love it.

+Yay for fitness!

+I really want to read the Spiderman series with Miles. Is out in trade paperback? I'll probably buy it then.

+And I am with you on TVD. If the first half hour sucks, I am definitely switching over to P&R at 8:30.

LOL, I'm still around sort of, but yeah, I'm not really feeling LJ fanniish these days. I miss it sometimes though.

iPads are completely worth the hype honestly, they're kind of amazing. I could never have afforded one without the payment plan though, so I hope they eventually come down on the price soon I want everyone to have one.

The Miles issues aren't in trade yet, there's only been 3 so far. But I think you'll enjoy the collection when it's out though, it's pretty brilliant.

TVD is kind of a headache for me now, but as long as I know Bonnie's there I can't seem to stop watching. And she might...a scene tonight. Maybe. :/

I'm going to be in the library writing a paper, so let me know if it's worth a download or not

Skip it. Unless you wanna feel like breaking furniture, like I do at the moment.

UGH. What happened??

All I heard was that the good stuff in the flashbacks was told, not shown, and there was a creepy Bonnie-Alaric moment

Blarg, I need to read Spidey. I got kind of pissed that they were selling it for the same price as the print copies (if they come out with an electronic trade I'd be all over that).

Also, not writing for an audience in mind is wonderful, I should've done THAT ages ago.

Ahh, yes, OMG. That's what I discovered last year and I'm going to take nano to just write for me and me alone, because it's so exhilarating with all the pressure off.

As to everything else in your post> OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOHMMMMMMMGYAAAAAY! *SQUISH*

Yeah, the pricing for comics is crazy, and actually just making things worse for comic shop owners (who are the only people I sympathize with in that entire situation).

Writing and posting online was the best thing I did at the time, but I think I'm a point where moving past that might be the best thing right now. At least for the process, and getting things done. It's really relaxed anyway.

Congrats on the new job. That's awesome.

I love gadgets. Glad you're enjoying the iPad. Though I doubt the price will go down significantly anytime soon. I want to get one and a new Macbook to replace the one that died on me.

Ultimate Spider-Man is so effing good! I love how they're taking their sweet time getting Miles into the suit. We get to spend some quality time getting to know this character and seeing how he's different from his predecessor. And the art is fantastic! This and Batwoman are some of the most gorgeous books I've ever read.

I've been spending less time on LJ in favor of Tumblr and Google+. Lately, when I do post, it's just a cross-post from Dreamwidth. With all the attacks and crashes that LJ's had lately, it's a good thing I'm not paying for it anymore.

I've wanted a Mac for years, but yeah, the cost thing when it comes to Apple products sucks.

I'm still in awe about Miles's book, it's so much better than I ever expected. I'm planning on buying the trade for that, and Batwoman, (and Wonder Woman) cause omg the art, and the stories. Favorite ongoings right now, hands down.

Awesome news about the job and the ipad. I want an ipad so bad, lol. Not that I really need one, you know? ;) But it would be a fun toy.

I stopped watching TWD this season. Main reason being that I never really got very excited about watching it last season and I'm trying to stop watching some shows cause I just don't have the time. Although of course when I do that I convince myself I can start new ones on my to watch list, lol. The only reason I gave TWD a try last season was because it has Sarah Wayne Callies whom I've loved since Prison Break.

I didn't think I'd get an iPad this soon, so I know how you feel. Hopefully they'll come down on the price soon, it is fun to have and pretty useful too! But I think they know what they have unfortunately.

I actually stopped watching TWD last season, and then picked it up recently because I read about a future character that seemed kinda awesome. It's funny, since I made this post my opinion on the comic has completely reversed, or the quality dropped significantly from the beginning of it's run. Now I'm enjoying the show a lot more, especially Lori, who I didn't think I would like as much as I do.
